You Gave Your Students Everything. This Is Yours.
A new scholarship for educators, worth two thousand dollars toward any Yinsa retreat.
All of my friends IRL are teachers. Almost twenty years in a New York classroom taught me something most people never see from the outside. Educators give constantly, all year long, and very rarely does anyone ask them how they are doing.
During the pandemic, I realized how much of myself I was giving to my job. I spent summers writing curriculum and setting up my classroom, largely because I knew the system I worked for would never give me the time at my actual job to do that. That meant that the time I was supposed to be resting and recovering, I was still giving.
Since the beginning, Yinsa Retreats has always had a scholarship component, but it was for anyone needing to heal from trauma. As we have embarked on a new journey focused specifically on educators and students within the Yinsa Foundation, we are extending that mission to Yinsa Retreats.
I built this scholarship because I know what it feels like to never feel like there's enough time to rest when you're holding space for lots of little minds and hearts. A retreat that actually lets you rest should not be out of reach for the people doing some of the most demanding work there is.
Here is how it works.
You apply using the link below. We accept applications on a rolling basis until all seats are filled.
If you are approved, two thousand dollars is applied straight to the balance of any Yinsa retreat you choose. This scholarship is open to:
- Any current classroom educator, at any grade level or subject, anywhere.
- Seats are limited each season, and awarded based on your application, not first come first served.
- The scholarship applies to any Yinsa retreat you choose, and any remaining balance is yours to cover.
The application is short. The seats are limited. The only thing stopping most educators from applying is the habit of putting themselves last.
