The Challenge I Have Been Working On For YEARS.

Hello Beautiful Souls,

At the beginning of this summer, I had a conversation with a woman in the collective that took me out. She was articulate, deeply self-aware, and had clearly done years of inner work. She could name every pattern, trace every wound back to its origin, and describe with surgical precision the exact moment her boundaries collapsed in any given situation.  Then, she said what I have said to every therapist and somatic worker I've paid this year.

"I know all of this. I just don't know how to actually do it."

They say often that when the student is ready the teacher appears, but in my experience, we are all teachers AND students.

I've been in this space long enough to know that this woman and I are not alone.  The problem is, most teachers and coaches and healers convince you that they check every box.

They do not.

I do not.

Understanding boundaries and living them are two completely different things, and for most of us, the gap between those two realities is not filled by more information. It is filled by practice, accountability, and the courage to be honest with yourself.  That's much easier when you're doing the work alongside other people who are doing it too.  We do not learn, or heal, in a vacuum.

On September 3rd, we are launching the Boundary Keeper Challenge — a 21-day practice for people who already understand the theory and are ready to actually live it. Each day brings one invitation: Small, specific, and designed to help you build the muscle of holding your boundaries in real life, not just in your head. Each week, we gather live to process, adjust, and hold each other accountable. At the end, for every single person who completes all three weeks of challenge activities, we will celebrate.

I'm calling it the Sala Session.

Since I've lived in DR, I have had many Sala Sessions.  I find myself on random porches or living rooms where I am blessed with women (and men) who have lived very different lives from me, and have offered me insight into my own struggle with boundaries.  I give everything to everyone else, and keep nothing for myself.  I'm working on that for Q4.

I want this group to feel like a small, intimate gathering with no agenda, no pitch, no curriculum, and nothing to sell.  It's just a few people who showed up for themselves for 21 days, working through whatever edge they are still sitting at. I want us to have the kind of conversations that only happen when everyone in the room has already done the work.

We start September 3rd. I would love for you to be one of those people.  If you're already a member of the LiveYinsa Collective, you're automatically invited.  If not, you can join below.

You are not people who need to be convinced that this work matters. You just have to choose to show up and do the work.  You can.

With Love,

Daniele

You Gave Your Students Everything. This Is Yours.
A new scholarship for educators, worth two thousand dollars toward any Yinsa retreat. All of my friends IRL are teachers.  Almost twenty years in a New York  classroom taught me something most people never see from the outside. Educators give constantly, all year long, and very rarely does anyone ask them how they are doing. During the pandemic, I realized how much of myself I was giving to my ...
Burning It All To The Ground...
I haven't been in a classroom in four years. After spending over two decades in schools, the last time I worked with kids in a school was June, 2022. That shifted this summer in the most bizarre way possible. Here's the story. Within seven days in early June, I onboarded two new partners for my company, launched the Yinsa Foundation non-profit, and transitioned from an LLC to a Corporation. The...
2027 Retreats are Here!
Morning, Collective, We are still coming down from Portugal. Eight days of  narrative therapy, movement, creative writing, and a group of women who showed up ready to do real work. I keep coming back to something one of our travelers wrote to us afterward: "I really learned to find myself again, as I was starting to lose myself and feel very depressed and overwhelmed with everything going on wi...
