January Book Club - The Creative Habit
Happy New Year, Collective,
We are still in the middle of winter, and this is not a season that requires intensity or constant motivation. In Kapha season, the most effective focus is routine. Not force. Not urgency. Just consistency.
That is why the theme for the Collective this year is Discipline.
Our first book club pick of 2026 is The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp. It speaks directly to the challenge many creative, thoughtful people face. We have vision and ideas, but without structure, even the most talented people struggle to sustain momentum. The book makes a clear case that routine is one of the strongest predictors of long-term success across any goal, personal or professional.
This resonates deeply with how many of us live. Entrepreneurship, leadership, teaching and creative work are often misunderstood as purely strategic or skill-based. In reality, they rely heavily on creativity, adaptability, and the ability to solve new problems repeatedly while still maintaining a life that feels stable and nourishing. Without strong habits, that balance becomes exhausting.
This month we are pairing The Creative Habit with the framework from The 12 Week Year. One explains why habits matter. The other shows you how to build them. The intention is not to overhaul your life overnight, but to create steady systems you can actually maintain. Ideally, this work carries forward into February, where many of you will be joining us in person on retreat and we can have deeper conversations around what is working and what needs refinement.
The first book club of 2026 is included in your free Collective membership. If you have not yet explored the on-demand library, podcasts, or upcoming workshops, you can access everything through the link below.
A separate note, since many of you reached out after this week’s episode of 90 Day Diaries.
Television is television. Real life is real life. There is a difference.
People often ask how I deal with criticism or online commentary. The honest answer is that I do not engage with it other than playful banter on a Live, or to use it to increase my reach. It is not relevant to how I live, how I work, or the standards I hold for my life. Self-love is not about perfection or image management. It is about boundaries, discernment, and refusing to let other people’s projections dictate your nervous system, your health, or your choices.
If you have ever watched my life unfold publicly and thought, 'I do not know how she does that', my work is to show you. Not in theory, but in practice. I teach how to take lived experience, even difficult or public ones, and build a life and a business that are sustainable. I teach how to develop self-respect that translates into real health, clarity, and stability.
This is the work we do in person on retreat. And if you have been feeling the pull, 2026 is the year to answer it. Whether you join us in the Dominican Republic, Portugal, or Bali, your retreat is an opportunity to choose yourself with intention and support.
Thank you for being here. Every email you read, every post you engage with, and every video you watch represents trust and attention. I do not take that lightly. I am grateful to begin this year with you.
With All the Love in the World,
Daniele
