Mother Daughter Moment:
Mother's Day in Paris

A reminder that we deserve this...

Why Paris?

Paris is the city of light, love, and endless inspiration. Paris has always been more than a destination—it’s a canvas for reflection, beauty, and rebirth. By bringing twenty women together here, I want to create a space where we honor not only motherhood, but also the many ways women mother themselves, each other, and the world.

Too often, women (like me) give endlessly without pausing to receive. Paris—with its cafés meant for lingering, its art that stirs the soul, its gardens that invite us to breathe—becomes the perfect backdrop for reclaiming that pause. I want you to walk through the Luxembourg Gardens and remember that you deserve beauty simply for existing. I want you to sit at a café on the Left Bank and feel the power of unhurried conversation. I want you to look up at Notre-Dame and remember that women, too, are cathedrals—built strong, full of light, with foundations that last centuries.

As I think reflect on my relationship with my mother, and her relationship with her own, I dream of all of us being able to roam Paris together, reminding us of just how much we are capable of through love.

This trip is about more than sightseeing; it is about witnessing yourself in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. It’s about celebrating the women who came before us, the women who walk beside us, and the woman within each of us who longs to be nurtured.

By the time you leave Paris, I want you to carry home more than photographs—I want you to carry a sense of spaciousness, joy, and possibility. This is not just a trip; it is an offering. A reminder that you, too, deserve to be celebrated.

🗣️ Local Tips

Local Tips for Traveling to Paris

  • Transportation: Paris boasts an extensive and efficient public transportation network. Use the Metro and buses for quick and affordable travel. Consider purchasing a carnet of tickets or a Paris Visite pass for unlimited rides. For shorter distances, walking or renting a VĂ©lib’ bike offers a charming way to explore neighborhoods.
  • Language: While many Parisians speak some English, learning basic French phrases such as bonjour (hello), merci (thank you), and s’il vous plaĂ®t (please) can enhance your interactions and show respect for local culture.
  • Customs and Etiquette: Politeness is key in Parisian culture. Always greet shop staff with a bonjour upon entering and use au revoir when leaving. When dining, avoid speaking loudly and remember to keep your hands visible on the table.
  • Safety: Paris is generally safe, but stay mindful of your belongings, especially in crowded tourist areas like the Eiffel Tower and train stations. Beware of common scams and pickpocketing. Always use well-lit, populated routes at night and keep an eye on your belongings.
  • Local Insights: Visit local markets such as MarchĂ© Bastille for fresh produce and artisanal goods. Explore less-touristy neighborhoods like Le Marais or Canal Saint-Martin for authentic cafĂ©s and boutiques. Allow time to simply sit at a sidewalk cafĂ© and enjoy the quintessential Parisian atmosphere.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Saint-Germain-des-Prés is located in Paris's 6th arrondissement. This area is typical Paris elegance with an intellectual flair. The neighborhood's golden age was just after WWII. It was, and is, a village within the city, with brasseries, bookstores, music shops, and nightclubs. Artists, intellectuals, authors, poets, and musicians flocked here including Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and Boris Vian. Parisian youth gathered near the universities of the Latin Quarter to listen to the banned jazz and bebop music. Contemporary theatre developed here.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés is still a bright gem of Paris. It offers art galleries and cafés. The Café du Flore, Les Deux Magots, and the Brasserie Lipp form a “Golden Triangle” of intellectual life on the Boulevard Saint-Germain. If you're lucky you might spot a famous politician, journalist, artist, or writer he

Private walking tour of Ile de la Cité followed by a self-guided visit of Notre Dame

Ile de la Cité is one of the most beautiful islands located in the center of Paris. Surrounded by the Seine, just like its neighbouring island, Ile Saint-Louis, Ile de la Cité is the ancient birthplace of the French capital. It houses some of Paris’s most well-known milestones, particularly the Notre Dame Cathedral making it worth spending an afternoon or even a day discovering.

Notre-Dame Cathedral, the gothic church, dating back to the mid-fourteenth century, is an architectural gem, widely considered to be one of the magnificent illustrations of French Gothic architecture. Its flying buttresses and vaulted ceilings, elegant stained glass rose windows, outstanding pipe organ and bells, gigantic quantities of decorative sculpture including its well-known gargoyles, priceless art and religious relics, and gorgeous concerts are just a few of the many reasons to visit. Ravaged by fire in 2019, it took 5 years to restore, mobilizing artisans and engineers to bring its iconic spire and vaults back to life
